Cold Gal Primer
A premium zinc enriched primer designed to restore original corrosion protection
to steel panels or structures repaired by welding. It’s high zinc content provides
a positive weld without splitting. It will not burn away during the welding process
and delaminate around the edges of the weld afterwards, ensuring maximum
corrosion protection. It is fast drying, resists sagging and settling and is water
resistant after 15 minutes and heat resistant to 500°C.
3M Cold Gal Primer is an organic zinc-rich coating that provides long
term corrosion protection to iron and steel. This is due to the cathodic
(galvanic) action between the steel and the zinc coating. This action
prevents rust from developing under the 3M Cold Gal Primer.
