General Respirator Selection Guide
Warning: These respirators help protect against certain dusts, fumes, mists, gases and vapours but do not eliminate exposure to or the
risk of contracting disease or infection. Misuse may result in sickness or death.
Use Limitations:
These respirators do not supply oxygen. Do not use when contaminant concentrations are: immediately dangerous to life and health; unknown;
above the maximum use limitations for each respirator type.
Do not use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen. Do not abuse, modify or misuse any respirator. Do not use close fitting
respirators (half facepiece or full facepiece) with beards or other facial hair that prevent direct contact between the face and the respirator
sealing surface.
Note:
As air contaminant types and concentrations vary from site to site this chart is a guide only. For other materials not covered above please
call our 3M TechAssist Helpline on 0800 3M Help (0800 364 357) for expert assistance.
