The 3M™ HH40 non-vented safety helmet has been designed with a full brim for extra protection against sun, rain and chemical. This Australian made Type 1 safety helmet is ideal for general industrial, mining, construction, transport, forestry and heavy engineering industries. The 50mm wide brim reduces exposure to sun, assists in deflection of falling objects and prevents liquids making contact with exposed neck areas. The safety helmet design allows multiple branding and reflective tape options. Suitable for general use in industry for protection of the upper part of the wearers head. The HH40 wide brim safety helmet has been designed to meet the requirements of AS/NZS 1801 for shock absorption, resistance to penetration, lateral stiffness, ignition by flame and electrial insulation (electrical hazards up to 650V) when tested in the Hot (50°C), Cold (-5°C) and Wet conditions.

What is the working life of a safety helmet?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions asked. All information pertaining to selection, care and use is available in AS/NZS 1800:1998.

Markings on safety helmets are a requirement for certification. It assists users in identifying their intended use. The shell is moulded with very important information stamped on the peak and you should familarise yourself with the significance of this labelling.

Replace your hard hat at regular intervals - Field tests have shown that generally, helmet shells have a life of at least 3 years from the time of issue. Components of harnesses may deteriorate more rapidly in service and harnesses should, therefore, be replaced at intervals not longer than 2 years.

If the sticker has been removed or unused, replace the helmet three years from the manufacture date stamp, which can be found under the brim or peak of the helmet. In the centre of the stamp is the year with a directional arrow pointing to the month of the year in which the helmet was made.

Customisation

Logo printing & branding

Corporate branding and reflective tape options available across the range help to create and maintain company image and visibility on site. 3M safety helmets have been designed to allow customisation with company logos, images and allows for the helmets to be branded with a logo on orders as low as 20 units. There are various logo printing positions and colours available.

3M safety helmets fitted with reflective tape have the advantage of improved visibility, particularly in low light areas and at night. The tapes have been extensively tested to ensure that the adhesive is fully compatible with ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and polycarbonate materials. The different shapes and patterns have been designed to fit the helmets and enhance the day and night-time visibility of the wearer. Most patterns have been designed to also fit around safety helmet accessories such as hearing protection, lamp brackets and company logo.
