The resin is formulated for virtually every electrical application requiring a reliable, soft, re-enterable resin with good handling and performance characteristics. Main applications include encapsulating, sealing, potting and shock damping.

Available in the individual 3M™ 8882 Electrical Re-Enterable Resin bags, 3M™ 2123 Electrical Re-Enterable Resin bags or purchased seperately via the 3M™ Scotchcast™ Easy 250 Dispenser.

3M™ Scotchcast™ Re-Enterable Electrical Insulating Resins feature the 3M™ Scotchcast™ 8882 Electrical Re-Enterable Resin and 3M™ Scotchcast™ 2123 Electrical Re-enterable Resin which is a two-part non-urethane encapsulating compound. The encapsulant aggresively adheres to filled cable and is compatible with common plastics used in telephone splice connectors.

This resin is also used as the insulating material for cable splices operating at 1000 volts and is rated for continuous use at 90 degrees celcius with an overload rating of 130 degrees celcius.
