3M offers new platform for dental, orthodontic and health care education.

We are proud to announce the launch of 3M Health Care Academy℠ as 3M’s new platform for customer education, providing a new and enhanced experience for health care professionals that draws on our science expertise, our people and our on-line platforms.

The 3M Health Care Academy is a rich resource that delivers a personalised learning experience, from hands-on product training and live seminars to online self-study and webinars that cover topics like new techniques that can improve a practice and continuing education for a wide range of certifications.

Everything is available on-demand so oral care professionals can access information at their convenience.

While the main content focuses on Oral Care topics, there will also be options to explore a wider area within 3M Health Care: In the near future, Oral Care professionals will be able to access resources that for example focus on infection prevention or attend an online webinar about health information systems to broaden their knowledge.

Content for dental professionals

3M Health Care Academy for dental professionals allows visitors to access Clinical Cases, Product Training Videos, request in-practice training as well as a calendar of the upcoming events offered somewhere close to their dental practice (searchable by state).

Registered users of the 3M Health Care Academy platform will have access to diverse online CPD-courses starting in July with direct restorative treatment techniques and during the rest of the year will be broadened to topics such as cementation of contemporary dental materials and intraoral scanning. These courses are available on-demand, which allows interested professionals to continue their education on their own time.

Due to the use of a Learning Management System, the continuing education credits earned during these courses can be awarded and archived automatically to the participant’s profile; it also allows you to retrieve and print a certificate.

Additional information offered on the platform includes product technique videos and an increasing range of Clinical cases.

Content for orthodontic professionals

Similar content will be soon offered to orthodontic professionals by the end of 2017. They will be able to access on-demand education and product training as well as educational resources focusing on aesthetic orthodontic treatment options etc.

How to get started

To access the Australia and New Zealand 3M Health Care Academy, go to www.3M.com.au/dental (or www.3M.co.nz/dental), and click on the Education tab on the menu bar. Next, click the Register button under Access on-demand Education and create an Enterprise Network Login with a username and password.
