Grouping. Making clinically coded data useful for reporting, reimbursement and analysis.

Clinical codes are the building blocks used to create a picture of a patient's stay in hospital. These codes are grouped to generate a Diagnosis Related Group (DRG), each representing a group of clinically and economically homogeneous patients.

Through DRGs a hospital is able to gain detailed understanding of the patients they treat (case mix). Many hospitals and departments then analyse this data for performance, pricing and reimbursement.

3M has a range of grouping software that groups coded data into any version of the Australian Refined - Diagnosis Related Group (AR-DRG).

Our On-Premise Grouper is 3M™ Core Grouping Software (CGS

Our Hosted Grouper is 3M™ Grouper Plus Content Service (GPCS)

All our grouping software has been certified by the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority (IHPA) to ensure the correct AR-DRG is assigned to the patient's episode of care.
