3M promotes business reforms with the introduction of global ERP

As part of this transformation, we are implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system which will allow for streamlined transactions with you. We have gained significant experience from implementing this in more than 35 countries over the past few years and are excited to do the same in Australia.

Please explore the six main areas where you will see changes from our order entry system implementation

We have worked diligently to reduce any impact to you. We encourage you to review the changes and assess whether you need to make changes to your processes or systems.

    Documents
    • New, consistent formatting 
    • Document numbers such as invoice numbers and credit memo numbers are now numeric and non-sequential 
    • New fields appear on many documents

    Order Numbering
    • Order number is assigned at order entry
    • Delivery number is added to shipments
    • Invoice number added at billing rather than at order entry

    Order Dating
    • Any date a customer sends will be used as a requested delivery date
    • Order dating from non-deployed sites may initially show TBD (to be determined) until updated by site
    • New delivery dating fields

    3M ID Numbers
    • Additional 10-digit 3M ID is added to documents and labels  
    • Customers may continue to use the 11-digit 3M ID, UPC, 3M Catalog Number and/or Customer Part Number. For abrasives materials, continue to use SPID Number, SPR Number and/or SPID UPC

    Changes include:
     

    • New format
    • Addition of 10-digit 3M ID
    • Shelf-life format change
    • Addition of a delivery number

    • New state of the art experience
    • Access using a computer, tablet or mobile device
    • Check product availability, place orders, check order status, view real-time price lists and product information
    • Securely access your agreements, pricing extracts, product files, news and more
