RECONDITIONING A FIBREGLASS BOAT

3M Marine 'One Step' WaxDue to the effects of the environment, aging and storage conditions, your fibreglass boat will suffer from oxidation, fading and scratches.

3M Marine Fibreglass Restorer or 3M Marine Cleaner & Wax contain a special blend of rubbing compound with carnauba and other waxes. Both products have been specifically designed to remove heavy oxidation (Restorer & Wax) or light-medium oxidation (Cleaner & Wax) oxidation whilst at the same time producing high gloss and providing protection to fibreglass/gelcoat and marine topside paints.

HAND APPLICATION
  • Wash boat to remove dirt and grime with 3M Marine Multi-Purpose Boat Soap.
  • Apply material to small area using a soft, clean cloth.
  • Rub aggressively using straight, short strokes.
  • Keep turning the cloth as more material is applied.
  • Buff to a high gloss using a clean, soft cloth.

Note: For faster results use an electric drill (1000-2500 rpm) equipped with a 152mm 3M Marine Superbuff™ Pad (Part #09038).

MACHINE APPLICATION

  • Apply sufficient material on a wool buffing pad (3M Pad Part N.05701 or 05711).
  • Before starting machine, spread the material on a (50x50) cm area with the pad, this will avoid "throw out" of the material.
  • Buff using light to medium pressure with your polisher (1500 to 2500 RPM).
  • Reduce pressure when material starts to dry.

Note: Apply with an air or electric buffer (1500 to 2500 rpm) equipped with a 3M Superbuff™ Pad (Part No. 05701) or 3M Hookit™ SBS Compounding Pad.
